Set in the high desert mountains of Southern California about an hour east of San Diego, Jacumba Hot Springs is a revamped natural mineral springs oasis built around some of the region’s most storied soaking waters. The property pairs a historic hot springs legacy with a freshly reimagined hotel, restaurant and pool scene.
The resort centers on three mineral pools fed by water that flows directly from the earth into the pools, completely free of chemical treatments. The water’s 100% natural mineral profile — alkaline at 10+ pH and rich in sodium, manganese, lithium, chloride, silica and hydrogen sulfide — has been known for its healing and regenerative qualities for centuries.
Jacumba Hot Springs Hot Pools Information
The mineral pools are the heart of the hotel. The Ritual Pool, the largest at 88–93 degrees, is the epicenter of community gathering and activity, open to hotel guests and pass holders. The Solstice Pool, also 88–93 degrees, is a quieter private sanctuary set apart from the main pool traffic, likewise open to hotel guests and limited pass holders. The Echo Room is a smaller indoor soaking pool at 102 degrees, open 24 hours a day exclusively for hotel guests.
Note that the hotel’s guest rooms and mineral hot spring pools are for humans age 21 and over.
Resort Accommodations
Overnight guests choose from 20 artisan rooms, luxury suites and spacious guest houses, including the Siren Suite, The King, The Double, The Casita, The Lodge, The Village House and La Ranchita — see the stay options. The Casita guest houses have private mineral spring soaking tubs, and a mineral spring lake is available for all to enjoy. Staying the night also unlocks exclusive access to The Echo Room.
Ojas Spa
The Ojas Spa offers massage services in spa tents nestled among Afghan pines. Massages run 60 minutes ($222), 90 minutes ($333) and 120 minutes ($444), plus the Mateo Signature Tui Na massage at 150 minutes ($555); add-ons such as aromatherapy and foot reflexology are $22 each. Every massage includes a complimentary Ritual Pool Pass for the day.
Dining
Dining is part of the draw. Long Shadow Restaurant and the Exotic Desert Hideaway Bar, led by Executive Chef Leonardo Ceja, serve an International High Desert dining experience; the patio restaurant and bar are open to the public, not just hotel guests.
Access and Usage Fees
Day visitors can book mineral pool passes: the Ritual Pool Pass starts at $25, the Solstice Pool Pass at $50, and the evening Ritual Star Soak Pass (after 5 p.m.) at $20. Private Ritual Pool cabanas start at $280. The hotel restaurant, bar patio and offsite guest houses are child and dog friendly; dogs are not allowed inside the hotel rooms or pool areas.
